Hello there and thanks for visiting my site. I’m Sean the course creator and hopefully the person to get you passing the Dublin area skills test and into your new career as a taxi driver here in Dublin.
So, a little about me. For a number of years I was doing many different types of jobs here in Dublin- All with the same result- Poor wages and limited flexibility. Of course I seen taxis all about the city and on more than one occasion thought ” I’d like a go at that ” .
Why I Created This Course
Early 2017 I started taking the idea seriously and began my first steps into becoming a Dublin taxi driver. I booked a course, paid a considerable amount ( €500 to be exact ) and began in Earnest. It was at that moment I began to feel overwhelmed. Yes the course was relevant and the content good but there was no structure, no clear path. After a month of study I had my first attempt the test and failed miserably.
I came away disappointed to say the least. Still, the idea of being my own boss, having ultimate flexibility lingered. I was determined to have another shot at it. Fast forward 6 months later and another €200 spent on a course. Again, I did the study and booked the test. And still, another failure. Another disappointment.
But again, the idea still lingered. I had a young family, I needed that flexibility. I knew I could do this. So I made a decision there and then.
Come up with my own course. So, I poured in hours, days, weeks into building a foolproof course and study system. I used every map, every resource available. I then narrowed it down into just what I needed to study. Booked the test again and the result? One of the highest test scores ever achieved both in the Dublin area and industry part of the test. Both 98% and 99% respectively.
Since then I’ve reviewed and revised the papers I created and offered them to friends and family looking to pass the test. The result? Each of the many people who attempted the test has passed with flying colours and has thanked me for getting them over the hurdle of what is an extremely difficult test to pass.
